Hoi allemaal,
Onderstaand berichtje heb ik zojuist op Boatertalk geplaatst en aangezien ik een beetje te lui ben om het allemaal te
vertalen maar het jullie niet wil onthouden:
Misschien iets leuks voor Sander?
Hi all,
I just found in my mailbox the first pictures of the prototype of the new Mega surfkayak: the Fury-ous. After reading the messages on the Amoeba Carver some of you will have a clue where the name came from ;-)
Anyway, it looks great, similar in size to the X-Ray: wee bit shorter and smaller, bit less volume too but with footbumps so chances are if you fit in an X-Ray you will fit in the Fury as well. The rear goes up higher than with the X-Ray or Revenge so either the seat/cockpit is lower or there is a bit more volume in the back. Whatever the reason, it does have slicey ends like the X-Ray/Revenge series.
The development of this boat was really fast & short:
Sat. Concept
Sun. Plug
Mon.Deck Mold
Tues. Hull Mold
Wed Layup
Thur FINISH
Fri Pics.
I haven't seen or paddled the Fury yet but plans are for Darren Bason(World Silver Medalist) to give it a thorough workout next Monday so I guess we'll hear more after that. AFAIK. Malcolm isn't sure whether this was just a project to cool off or whether it will make full scale production. If you're interested in the Fury-ous though I'd say get in touch with him and see where you can go from there.
These are the pictures I was got:

Michiel

| If you make a boat and it floats pretty well, I'd say that's a damn good canoe |
