De lake district in england heeft te kampen (gehad) met grote overstromingen.
Huizen naast de rivieren ( zoals leven & kent) zijn ondergelopen, ontzettend veel bruggen zijn vernietigd of beschadigd.

Er is een charity evenement in het leven geroepen.,
Mochten er mensen toevallig gaan varen in de buurt van Scotland of 'the Lakes' dan is het misschien de moeite waard dit 'charity fun day paddle' mee te pikken.
Hoe en wat moet je zelf maar even lezen:
After all the flooding on the 19th November Cumbria Community Foundation set up the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund. Check out their website for information about making a donation and now a group of kayakers are putting an event together to raise money for the fund. Again check out their website for more information, but it seems, from what has been put down on paper, that it is going to be a good, well organised event that will raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
To date they are gauranteeing a raffle with prizes from Jackson Kayak, Immersion Research and System X. The event is to be held at the Burrs Country Park on the 17th January 2010 and kicks off at 10:30am
