Welcome to our forum. Are you already an experienced paddler or are you just getting into the sport? Do you have your own equipment or would you need a boat, paddle etc?

Although I am not sure whether UKC actually does flatwater/K1 training but it can't hurt to ask. BTW: it would be great to have some K1 paddlers from Utrecht as well
Otherwise, try to get in touch with William (http://www.williamwillems.nl/ ), he is a marathon/K1 paddler who currently lives in your neck of the woods and might be able to help you out.

Thank you for the useful information. I contacted Utrechtse Kanoclub and I am waiting for their reply about K1 rowing possibilities.
I am an experienced paddler, but I haven't been practising for a couple of years, and I think that now is quite a good opportunity to revive an old custom.
I don't have any equipment for trainings that's why I am searching for come club to join the trainings.

Near Utrecht, the place is called IJsselstein there a 2 paddlers training in K-1's.
There is a touringclub (www.kvij.nl) but 99% is touring/sea/ww.
UKC has no easy entrypoint for racingkayaks, you'll have to get in and paddle for 400 mtrs and get out again, lift the boat and walk to a other canal.

In case you feel up to it, next Wednesday (28 April) there is an "Avond marathon" as well, in Amsterdam South (KV Frisia). If you would like to race, contact the organiser Henk via www.kanotrainer.nl and if you ask he might be able to get you a boat and paddle for the race.
